The story
Spend a day with a wholesale distributor and the pattern is the same everywhere. A salesperson rides a beat with an order book. A driver leaves with a loading sheet and a stack of invoices. Back at the office, someone re-types all of it into an accounting package and a spreadsheet, and hopes the godown count still matches.
Every piece of software in that chain was built for one job. None of them talk to each other. The distributor is the integration layer — and the cost of that shows up as stockouts, credit slipping, and a three-day scramble every time GST is due.
So we built instock: one system for that whole chain — vendors and purchasing, catalog and pricing, inventory, orders, delivery routes, staff, and GST compliance — sharing one ledger, built offline-first for the field, and multi-tenant from the ground up.
We're a small team based in Bengaluru, India, working directly with the first distributors on the platform. The public brand name is still being finalised — instock is the working name and the product ships from instockone.com.
